Literary Romance

Hidden within a cozy library, warm light illuminates shelves filled with forgotten tales. An unspoken connection hangs in the air, where the whisper of romance lingers amidst the dusty pages and weathered shelves.

The Concept

"Literary Romance" is based on the concept by Aveline Stokart

Breakdown

I sculpted both characters to match one to one with the concept, and then recreated their clothes using a mixture of sculping and marvelous designer.

The clothes were textured in Substance Painter, but their skin and everything else was hand painted in Mari.

​

The grooming was all done using X-Gen. For their hair I used a combination of tube grooming and individual guide placement. 

​

I textured each book in Mari by projection painting and then adjusting each to add displacement to the leather and specular to the binding details. 

Render Passes/Compositing

I did a lot of compositing work for this piece using Nuke to work with light selects, various render elements, and add multiple atmospheric effects.
